CANADA LIVE PRESENTS 2009 ECMA/SOCAN SONGWRITERS' CIRCLE AND GREAT BIG SEA

THURSDAY, APRIL 23 at 8pm (8:30pm NT)

ECMA 2009/SOCAN SONGWRITERS’ CIRCLE
When the multitudes gathered for this year’s East Coast Music Awards in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, there was a sizzling buzz around the Songwriters' Circle. The Sunday afternoon session is always one hot ticket event and this year was no exception.
Newfoundland Juno Award winner MAUREEN ENNIS, Cape Breton’s STEVEN MACDOUGALL (Slowcoaster) , Nova Scotia’s DAVE CARROLL (Sons of Maxwell), and New Brunswick’s CHRIS COLEPAUGH, treated the standing-room-only crowd to an amazing set of songs and stories. “The Man of A Thousand Songs” RON HYNES hosted the show.

GREAT BIG SEA
It was Paddy’s Day weekend in St. John’s when home-town heroes GREAT BIG SEA hit the stage at Mile One Centre. They were nearing the end of their seven-month international tour in support of their latest CD release “Fortune’s Favour”. The place went wild as Alan Doyle, Sean McCann, Bob Hallett and a supporting cast of several thousand crazed Newfoundland republicans ramped up the best kitchen party on the planet.
