East Coast Artists See Great Success with 2010 International Program

The East Coast Music Association (ECMA) is pleased to announce that early results of the 2010 ECMA International Program show resounding success with a tremendous amount of confirmed business for East Coast artists.
"The ECMA 2010 International Program continued its success of bringing top quality delegates who can deliver export business opportunities to our members" says Shelley Nordstrom, ECMA Export Manager. "Over 75 East Coast artists and companies participated in the program with international tours, festivals, booking agents signings, and label/ distribution deals confirmed."
PEI's Grass Mountain Hobos and Nova Scotia's Tom Fun Orchestra saw incredible success as part of the 2010 program. The Hobos were able to book festival dates in the UK, confirm booking agent representation and tour support in the UK, secure interest in festival bookings at the Peats Ridge Festival in Australia and confirm festival bookings in Ontario.
Tom Fun Orchestra secured interest in label and booking agents in Belgium, are in discussions to develop touring opportunities throughout the UK, negotiating Australian booking agent deals which include a series of tour dates and supporting label releases, secured interested in bookings at the Peats Ridge Festival in Australia and confirmed festival dates in Midland, Ontario. Other artists who saw incredible success were: Amelia Curran (NL), Catherine MacLellan (PE), Colin Grant (NS), Joel Plaskett (NS), Old Man Leudecke (NS), Olympic Symphonium (NB) and Ryan LeBlanc (NB).

Forty-three delegates were recruited from Canada, the United States, Belgium, France, Australia, England, Ireland and Scotland to attend the 2010 East Coast Music Awards, Festival & Conference held in Sydney, Nova Scotia, from March 4-7.
“We are thrilled to see so many East Coast artists evolving as a result of the ECMA International Program” says Su Hutchinson, executive director of the ECMA. “The program truly provides an immeasurable opportunity for east coast artists to showcase their music to people who will in an instant affect their careers. ECMA’s focus for the coming years is to continue to cultivate and developthis area of our programming as it is clearly working for our members.”
The International Program allows East Coast artists to be seen and heard by delegates from across the country and around the world. According to the overall evaluation of the program and feedback received from members and program delegates, business negotiations for east coast artists is at its highest level in recent history.
The East Coast Music Association (ECMA) is a not-for-profit organization whose mandate is to develop, foster and promote east coast music and its artists locally, regionally, nationally and internationally. The ECMA currently has 1000 members.
